Future Mangrove Carbon Storage Under Climate Change
By Jessico Hendrick Sermatang & Elisabeth Yolanda Naingalis
Mangrove forests have a key role to play in climate change mitigation strategies. The results of recent studies show that mangroves contribute very potentially to reducing carbon emissions compared to tropical rainforests. Indonesia's forests consist of various types of forests. One of them is mangrove forests or mangrove forests. With the ability of mangroves to store carbon, the increase in carbon emissions in nature can certainly be further reduced. So in this case, mangrove habitat is a large carbon sink. According to some literature, carbon sinks, or carbon dioxide sinks, are reservoirs or places to store or absorb carbon dioxide gas contained in the earth's atmosphere. Forests and seas are natural places on this earth that serve to be places to absorb carbon dioxide (CO2) gas. Mangrove ecosystems are closely related to climate change. The existence of healthy mangroves in coastal areas can increase the resilience of coastal communities to climate change and minimize the impact of natural disasters, such as tsunamis, storms and waves (adaptation function). Indonesia needs healthy mangroves that are managed sustainably for the survival of the community, the role of the Indonesian people is restoration and conservation. The increasing movement for mangrove conservation and restoration in Indonesia is inseparable from public awareness of the importance of mangroves for life.

Biodiversity of Mammals Inhabits Mangroves in Indonesia
By Farrel Radhysa Muhammad Zahdi
Mangrove stands are considered wetlands, but they actually provide a wide range of ecosystem goods and services. Mangroves have been widely discussed for supporting many ecosystem services, including flood protection, nutrient and organic matter handling, sediment control, and fisheries. One of the biotic components in addition to having a positive impact is mammalian. The study of the diversity of mammal species is to produce basic data that can be used as one of the guidelines for managing a conservation area. Most of the data on mammals found in various parts of Indonesia have indicated that they are threatened with extinction. As an effort to preserve biodiversity, the Indonesian government has established several laws and regulations to support the conservation of natural resources and forestry. As people, the first priority that needs to be done is to carry out habitat restoration. In order to concrete steps to restoring mangroves, it needs to be equipped with knowledge that is considered adequate.

Current and Potential Mangrove Products in Indonesia
By Sharleen Tjendraputri & Anoraga Ilafi Perdana
Mangroves’ significant role in environmental and carbon production issues has been widely
recognized. However, many still limited its potential in those areas only, causing the hesitation to
contribute to mangroves restoration. In this paper, the value of mangroves’ potential in socioeconomic is
going to be discussed. Throughout this paper, the Indonesian mangrove situation, as well as its current
product, will be compared with the other foreign countries. Based on this study, despite having huge
potential for originating products, mangrove destruction has been happening rapidly, limiting its
potential and urging the government to work on the restoration and rehabilitation of mangroves.

Indonesia Regulations to Protect Mangrove and the Challenges
By Abraham Steve Sammer Panjaitan & Dian Aprilia Manase
Mangrove has many advantages for environment, sea animals, and people. Indonesia with its coastline has huge potential for mangrove to be plant. It provides shelter and food for sea animals. With its ability, mangrove can store carbon dioxide and provide oxygen for living creatures. It also can reduce tsunami power up to half of it. Many regulations have been made to protect mangrove, unfortunately, many Indonesia society lack of information about mangrove regulation, overlapping responsible between ministries for handling the mangrove and etc. Several actions need to take in order to preserve Indonesian mangrove.
